On June 12th 2020, Viamark Video in Boston received an email from Amy Sousa, CEO of the Guild for Human Services. She was dismayed to see what was happening in the news and how many of the media outlets were portraying the Black Lives Matter protests with such negative imagery. Amy came to us with a concept that she wanted to turn into a video and advocacy piece to demonstrate the many ways that people of color matter to The Guild, their students, and their residential population.
The Guild for Human Services is a non-profit organization that offers a continuum of services for youth and adults with intellectual disabilities; including autism and behavioral/mental health challenges. The Guild School serves approximately 85 students from age 6 to 21 years old and they operate 11 residential homes for adults. Approximately 80% of their staff identify themselves as people of color.
Glenn Anderson, Founder of Viamark Video in Boston and Creative for a Cause, said: “Last year, we had the opportunity to meet Amy and her phenomenal staff along with many of the students and their parents while producing several videos for The Guild. Based on this experience, we already knew what an amazing and diverse place The Guild is… so when Amy came to us with this idea, I couldn’t say YES fast enough. This is exactly the type of work we’re looking to do with Creative for a Cause.” The video production below was created with actual images found in an online search and transitioned to photos of staff and students that The Guild provided us.
Creative for a Cause specializes in video production in Boston and New England for Non-Profits, Healthcare Practices, and Educational Institutions (Local Schools, Colleges, and Universities).
