Every CEO and every organization has a unique story to tell.
Every person, every business and every practice has a unique story. That’s what makes my job so interesting. I like digging in and uncovering that unique story.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so I’m going to share a personal story about my family. This is a video we produced for the Dana-Farber Cancer Center last year.
My goal for this video was to personally thank Dana-Farber and share a message of hope with patients (and their families) currently going through treatment for breast cancer. And we did this through story telling.
We could have shown lots of great research and statistics that would demonstrate that Dana-Farber is one of the best cancer centers in the country, and that information would appeal to the logical side of your brain, which is important. But, most people (whether they know it or not) make decisions based on emotion. And that’s where story telling comes in to play.
Fact: Every CEO and every organization has a unique story to tell.
Story telling is the best way to demonstrate your passion for your business; it’s how you connect with your customers and “Humanize” your business. There are a lot of different ways to tell that story and distribute it.
